Now that the job market has picked up, more executives will be out the door in the coming months, according to a recent ExecuNet survey.
The executive job search and recruiting firm surveyed 505 employed executives and found that 61 percent of them are not happy with their current job. Many in that group--77 percent--plan to change jobs in the next six months.
"The revolving door on the corner office is about to pick up speed," says Dave Option, CEO and founder of ExecuNet. "Given the stakes, retention will soon be one of corporate America's top priorities."
Fortunately for job seekers, ExecuNet's most recent Recruiters Confidence Index indicates that headhunters are confident that the executive employment market will improve during the next six months. The industry expects a 16 percent increase in the number of assignments from corporate clients. In preparation, nearly half (49 percent) of all search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff in the coming months, according to the index.
